ABOUT
Sasha Koltsov is a graphic designer and design director based in London. He creates beautiful and scalable brand identities for big and small companies. The main challenge in each project for him is to find a visual metaphor that emphasises the essence and character of the brand. He loves working with hand-drawn graphics, illustrations, typography, and lettering. Sasha works on identities on various levels: from developing the brand story with the strategist to brainstorming and sketching of the first ideas and concepts, drawing graphics and logos to directing a team of other creatives like fellow graphic, web, motion, 3D designers, copywriters, and photographers.
Sasha has 10 years of work experience in Graphic Design, for almost 8 of which he has worked in the award-winning Shuka Design brand bureau. Sasha has extensive editorial design background as well as typeface design experience. He also teaches hand-drawn and printed graphics on an Identity & Branding course in British Higher School of Arts and Design in Moscow.

Before Shuka Design expanded and started collaborating with big companies and ecosystems, Sasha had been either art directing small teams of designers, and making design by himself, developing visual systems, websites, drawing letterings, logos, illustrations, etc.

Before Shuka Design chose to focus on branding services, Sasha worked on editorial projects, including various magazines, newspapers, and books. His work duties included graphic concepts development, layout design, illustrations and photos comission, art direction of photoshootings, print control. During that time Sasha also worked on posters, packaging, space and web design.
